Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the outspoken MP for Assin Central, recently addressed his supporters’ concerns following his active participation in the NPP’s recent events.
Last November, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong ran in the NPP flagbearer primaries, earning 37.41% of the vote while Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia won with 61.43%. Despite allegations of harassment against his followers during the primaries, Agyapong continues to support the party.
Recently,Kennedy Agyapong attended the inauguration of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, chosen by Dr. Bawumia as his running mate, which upset some of his followers. Addressing this on his X (formerly Twitter) page, Agyapong said, “Some people were upset with me during my recent visit to Kumasi. I want to remind my supporters that loyalty to the party supersedes personal sentiments. As long as I remain in the NPP, I will actively participate in the party’s activities. If you want to be a leader, you must first be a servant of the people.”
The Mp’s statement highlights the importance of unity and loyalty within the NPP as the party gears up for the upcoming elections. His influence in Ghanaian politics remains strong, urging supporters to focus on the party’s collective goals.
