Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh Apologizes for Remarks on Dr. Kwame Nkrumah

In a statement released this morning, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh issued a sincere apology for his recent remarks about Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and other former presidents.

He clarified his intentions by stating, “I did not mean to denigrate former president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah or any other president.” The comments, made last Tuesday, July 9th, in Kumasi, regarding President Akufo-Addo’s performance, have sparked varied reactions from the public.

Dr. Prempeh explained that his statement was a reflection of his personal opinion on President Akufo Addo’s impact relative to other presidents. He emphasized, “I never meant to disrespect our former President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, or any of our former heads of state, including my own grand uncle and mentor, Mr. John Agyekum Kufuor.”
