MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa Accuses Vice President’s Top Advisor of Seizing Prisons Land in New Allegation

0

In a shocking revelation, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP for North Tongu and vocal critic of the controversial SSNIT hotels sale, has made another explosive allegation.

Ablakwa, who spearheads the “Hands Off Our Hotels” protest, claims that Prof. Kwaku Appiah-Adu, Senior Policy Advisor to Vice President Bawumia and Board Chair of La Palm Royal Beach Resort, is embroiled in a legal battle over prime land belonging to the Ghana Prisons Service at Roman Ridge.

According to Ablakwa, Prof. Appiah-Adu, already under scrutiny for allegedly running down La Palm Resort and facilitating its sale to government associates, now asserts ownership over parts of the Roman Ridge Borstal Institute lands, allocated to the Ghana Prisons Service since June 28, 1950. Ablakwa alleges that Prof. Appiah-Adu has even used national security operatives to demolish a protective fence erected by the Prisons Service.

“The showdown continues in court,” Ablakwa revealed on his social media, “with the Prisons Service and the Attorney General’s Department attempting to stop the all-powerful Bawumia advisor as they pursue an appeal.”

This latest accusation adds to a growing list of concerns about state asset sales under the current administration, including SSNIT hotels, parks, and beachfront properties. Ablakwa has vowed to escalate his resistance against what he terms “lootocratic schemes” both in and outside Parliament.

Former President John Mahama has promised major investigations and repossession of looted lands if he returns to power in January 2025. Meanwhile, Ablakwa calls for continued public vigilance and resistance, declaring, “State Capture shall be defeated!”
